The idea for one of Darren's Father's Day gifts was spawned from something that Makenna gave to her friend as a birthday present, and later wanted for herself when her own birthday rolled around--a Webkinz. What's a Webkinz? It's a "plush toy" (stuffed animal) that when registered online, the owner gains access to games and a virtual life of the pet. So when Makenna registered her animal online, who was the one who seemed to have the most fun playing the games, with cheers of victory when the going was good and groans of despair when it wasn't? You guessed it. Darren. All the kids thought he needed one of his own, and so his own personal access to Webkinz online leaped from a gift bag today in the form of a squishy, fat frog (see bottom right corner of photo). Those of you who have ever heard Marja Hansen sing her most infamous camp song can probably guess what Darren named it--Ferbert. Almost as soon as Darren received it, he and the three youngest kids hopped up and away from the table and burrowed by the computer to play a few games online. (I think I'm going to have to institute the same policy for Darren that I have for the kids. They have to earn five tokens to exchange for an hour of "screen time.") Funny father!

The reason there is a removed comment is because I wrote a lame comment and was glad to see that I could remove it.
However, having a comment removed note is even more lame so here it is.
Posting pictures the same day as an event is sick and wrong! YOu are so on top of everything. (it seems)
(Some day, I hope to be just like you!)
I want a Webkinz too!
That is the funniest thing. You can tell that Darren and Laurice are related. She plays games on her kids' Webkinz and keeps them alive. She plants gardens and wins points so they can go shopping. Jeremy almost got her one for Mother's Day! Sometimes I am surprised that I am related to these people.
I DOMINATE those kids in Quizzy's Word Challenge!
